Leadership
Kailey Carey, Senior Meteorologist
Carey leads the Minuteman Weather Operational Meteorologist team servicing the agricultural sector. As a well known broadcast meteorologist in major markets through Texas, she gained a reputation for insightful, yet concise analysis. She has a unique perspective into how weather impacts the agricultural industry that was developed from an early age as she grew up on her family’s multi-generational rice farm outside of Katy, Texas. Her fascination with meteorology and the severe weather events developed on the farm led her to obtain a degree in Meteorology from Texas A&M University. She immediately went into broadcast meteorology after graduation which has enabled her to hone her skills as a forecaster in an array of environmental conditions. Her reputation in the professional field led to her being later sought by the Texas A&M University Meteorology Department to serve as an instructor while she continued her successful career in the private sector. Today, Carey leads a skilled team of meteorologists in generating the Minuteman Weather analysis of environmental conditions impacting the risk transfer and commodity markets.
